Biography

Simon has worked in social housing for over 35 years with Local Authorities and for 13 years as Chief Executive of Kirklees Neighbourhood Housing. KNH are one of the country’s first arms lengths organisations managing 22,000 homes in West Yorkshire, and Simon was the longest serving almo Chief Executive until he retired in December 2015.

During his time as Chief Executive, Simon led KNH to become one of the best performing housing organisations in the country with a sound reputation for innovation and value for money. KNH achieved IIP Gold in 2014 and are a Sunday Times Top 100 not for profit organisation.

Simon has a wealth of experience in leadership, relationship management and negotiation in complex operating environments involving individuals and organisations including; elected members, senior executives, customer groups, trades unions, partner organisations and developers.

Simon is also a fully qualified and experienced coach and mentor, and has many years’ experience as a Board member of a housing organisation.
